I can think of no greater love besides laying my life down for you than this1: telling you the truth. The truth is: Jesus Christ died to save sinners, of whom I am chief2. The truth is: Jesus came to seek and save that which was lost3. For God so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life4.
A prominent atheist once said: “I don’t respect people who don’t proselytize. If you believe that there is a heaven and hell and people could be going to hell or not getting eternal life, and you think its not really worth telling them this because it would make it socially awkward, how much do you have to hate someone not to proselytize? How much do you have to hate someone to believe that everlasting life is possible and not tell them that?”5 If you’ve spent your life up to this moment and no one has ever told you, I am telling you now: Jesus loves you. Jesus died for you. Jesus alone can set you free. Jesus comforts and warns us, He is the only way to salvation and eternal life, outside of Him there is only eternal damnation6.
The Scripture says if you will confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved7. Regardless of how wonderful you think you are, no matter how terrible the world says you are, outside of Christ no one has hope8. Jesus says: if you love me you will keep my commandments9. If you refuse to humble yourself before the cross, if you refuse to surrender to Jesus as Lord, you cannot be saved by Him as Saviour. No matter how hard your friends or family try to convince you otherwise, if you are living contrary to God’s Word, He is not happy about it and He will not simply accept it10.
Christians sin, we make mistakes, we fail God and those we love. What the world classifies as hypocrisy simply means that God’s work is not finished in us yet. Yes, we are different, we are saved and redeemed by the blood of Christ. If your life does not reflect the love and fruits of the Spirit, I challenge you to prayerfully consider this question: have you ever surrendered your life to Jesus?11 Scripture tells us that today is the appointed day for salvation12, today it is time to set your heart on God’s Word and carefully consider His love. Will you surrender? Will you be showered with mercy, love, and grace? Or will you reject Christ and suffer the eternal damnation that is sure to come?
