Oh How I Need Jesus

As a new day ramps up, I hope that you know in Jesus we find rest for our souls. In the hustle and bustle of every day life, we can slowly become weary and overwhelmed but here in the presence of Jesus we will find true rest and peace for our souls. Here in Christ we find a peace that passes all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

Often pride can keep us from coming to Jesus. “I don’t need a crutch”. “God helps those who help themselves”. “God can’t love me, I’ve just done too much”. The lies we tell ourselves vary but when we refuse to acknowledge our desperate need for Jesus we will never experience the life God created us to know. Today, come with every anxiety and cast it at Jesus feet (1 Peter 5:7) and before the throne of God you will find mercy and grace to help in your time of need (Hebrews 4:16).

My prayer for you and I today is that we would realize just how desperately we need Jesus. I also pray that we would remember God loves us with a love that surpasses understanding. Through our faith in Jesus we are promised that nothing and no one can ever separate us from God’s love (Romans 8:38-39). Today let us find great joy in the grace and mercy of our good God.

Just Trust Jesus

I like to play the “what if” game. I’m often reminded that I can’t always control my circumstances or the world around me but I can control my actions and how I respond. I understand that the worries in life can be overwhelming and the anxiety can rise in the hearts of the most faith filled believer. Come to Jesus and cast all that on Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).

Tonight it’s time for us to humbly admit that God alone can do what we are powerless to do. Jesus calls us to seek the kingdom of God and every thing we need will be given to us as well (Matthew 6:33).

Tonight no matter what tomorrow holds I want to share 3 powerful promises from Scripture:

1. In Christ we can know a peace that passes all understanding (Philippians 4:7)
2. When we come to Jesus we will find rest for our weary and burdened souls (Matthew 11:28)
3. In our time of need, in Christ, we can boldly come before the throne of God to find mercy and grace to help us (Hebrews 4:16)
