God Given Wisdom

I admit there are deep moments of insecurity and feeling totally unprepared to face the challenges that life can bring my way. It is in these moments of my human weakness and failure that I continue to realize how desperately I need Jesus.

Are you facing uncertainty or trials in your life? God tells us to come and seek wisdom as He gives us the right perspective for whatever we are facing. Do you lack wisdom tonight? Through our faith in Jesus we can come to God, ask for wisdom and He will give us more than enough.

Love in Word and Action

Although I think its important to tell those you love often that you do love them, I think it is far more important to show them. Talk is cheap, actions speak louder than words, and faith without works is dead. God didn’t just shout His love from the heavens, He showed His love on the cross. There the Word of God and His actions combined to demonstrate the greatest love mankind could ever know in His only Son Jesus. (John 3:16)

Today two important thoughts come to mind: first, before God formed you in your mother’s womb, He knew you. Second, when Jesus was on the cross, you were on His mind. You don’t have to ask “if” God loves you, but you may spend a life time exploring the “why”. Knowing the love of God propels us to love others and to proclaim the freedom and salvation that come only through Jesus. (John 14:6)

My prayer for you and I today is that the love of God would overwhelm every painful memory, every hurt, and every fear so we could be truly free (John 8:36). Today may the Word and actions of God refresh you, strengthen you, and encourage you to face whatever life holds. Because Jesus lives, we can face tomorrow!

Never Alone

Life can warp our sense of love, purpose, and relationship. We might be tempted to think God is like friends or family who’ve turned their back when we needed them most but God is not that way. Through faith in Jesus nothing (and no one) can separate us from the love of God (Romans 8:28).

As someone who has experienced the heartbreak of being abused and neglected the scars of insecurity and the fear of being rejected or abandoned are very real. My God loves me in the midst of my brokenness and slowly but certainly reassures me that His love is nothing like I’ve ever known or experienced outside of Him.

Tonight I just want to share this reminder: Jesus is always with us, even to the end of this age (Matthew 28:20).
