Have Mercy

If my brief 34 years have taught me anything it is we are all desperately in need of God’s loving mercy, kindness, love, and grace. If David, a man after God’s on heart, could fall into horrible sin, none of us are infallible. The Scripture teaches us that no one is righteous, no not one (Romans 3:11). We all need Jesus, the only perfect One to ever walk the face of this planet.

What I find fascinating is that even while I was a sinner, Jesus died for me (Romans 5:8). This means while I was an enemy of God, while I rejected Him and ran as far and as fast away as I could, He still loved me. How great is God’s love for you? Read John 3:16 and you’ll see an incredible proof of the great love God has for you. Spoiler alert: God loves you so much that He gave His only Son Jesus to die the death you and I deserved so we would not perish but have everlasting life.

My prayer for us today is our hearts would not become boastful, arrogant, or proud. Let us never forget our desperate need for Jesus. No matter how great the work has been God is doing in our life, He isn’t through with us yet (Philippians 1:6). Let us remember that it is God who has done the great work and trust in Him alone to continue it.

Walking Through the Fire

There is something so powerful about the providence of God that should comfort us as His children. Through faith in Jesus we are forgiven, redeemed, and experience a relationship with God we could never know apart from God’s only Son.

Tonight, whatever you are facing, remember: God is faithful. He still moves mountains. Nothing is impossible with Jesus. No matter how big the mountains may seem, seek God’s rest and know the peace that passes all understanding.

Don’t stop trusting. Don’t stop fighting. Don’t give up, in Jesus name.

Tonight’s Scripture:
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

He Will Dry Every Tear

At 4am when I can’t sleep because a million thoughts seem to be racing through my mind, my heart turns to this promise. Though the world can be full of pain, sickness, fear and suffering… it won’t always be this way.

There is coming a day where the God of the universe will right every wrong. In His presence He will dry every tear as He ends the despair humanity has known since the fall.

If your hurting, broken, scared, tired, weary, wounded or frustrated: come. Jesus will give you rest (Matthew 11:28).
